Sometimes you see a film that changes how you see things. Maybe it's my fondness of love stories, or red heads, but Richard Curtis's latest film has made me stop and think about the little things we tend to take for granted or ignore. The things that make life memorable and worth living. Passion. All of the things that successful pieces of art should make us feel.
The trailer is one of those that tends to give away the plot of the film - so bear that in mind before watching.

Maryanne Moodie - Beautiful Woven Artwork
This is another case of me getting excited about textile artists, when I'm studying Illustration and should be focussing on that! But Maryanne Moodie's woven artwork is far too pretty to be sidelined.
All these images are from Maryanne's pinterest.

Stephanie Clark
Stephanie Clark's embroidered illustrations are beautiful. I love her Portraits Of Houses series. You can see more of her work here.
Embroidery is something I want to learn. As a textiles obsessed illustration student, it's almost the logical step.

Location Drawing: The Press Room Cafe
The Press Room is my favourite cafe, located tantalisingly close to my flat and has such beautiful decor, I spent an afternoon last week drinking smoothies and drawing.

Rubber Stamp Carving
Term is rapidly coming to an end and with it, first year. I'm frantically trying to compile all my work and fill in any gaps from the modules. Last night I made a set of stamps by carving into rubbers. Another thing ticked off the list. I'm looking forward to summer now, I have a lot of mundane household plans, and some more exciting ones too.

Sneak Peek of my FMP
It's taken hours of hard work but the end is very nearly in sight. I've made 4 complete objects for my FMP so far and I'm very nearly done. Tensions are running high in our flat at the moment - Harriet has her final hand in for the first year of her Art & Design FdA today and there's frantic printing, cutting and sticking happening in our living room. Along with the occasional "I am going to be so much more organised / work so much harder next year" emitting from both of us.
